The Rev. Valerie M. Roberts-Toler graduated from Westfield State University where she majored in English and in secondary education. After teaching in public schools and at St. Mary’s in Westfield MA, she attended seminary. The Rev. Roberts-Toler began her studies at Gordon-Conwell and then transferred to and graduated from Andover Newton Theological School in 1985. She is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and has served churches in Shrewsbury, MA, Portland and Moodus, CT, Mansfield Center, CT, Lenox, MA, and Westfield MA.

Rev. Roberts-Toler loves crafting liturgy and weaving a service together that illuminates a scriptural theme. She is passionate about youth ministry but is ever grateful for our senior citizens who have worked so hard in our churches. She believes that Christ is truly known to us in the breaking of the bread and so she looks for opportunities to share a meal as the family of God.

Rev. Roberts-Toler is married to the Rev. Roberts-Toler who in addition to serving churches, also served as the Protestant Chaplain at CT Valley State Mental Hospital. They have three children. Jose graduated from Wentworth Institute and works in computer technology. Carla graduated from Tufts and is pursuing her Master’s degree in biostatistics in London. Rachael is a sophomore at UMASS Boston.

In her free time she loves to read, write, cook and visit thrift shops!
